Solution Surfers offers a proven alternative to mainstream consulting, training facilitation and  coaching solutions moving from the more commonly used problem-solving paradigm to the effective solution-focused paradigm.  In addition workshops and interventions are interactive and positive, building on existing “wins” and engaging people in resourceful, collaborative co-operative thinking and actions.  It is positive psychology in action, a direct route to fast results.

Solution Surfers UK is led by Rob Rave ICF accredited PCC coach , the only professionaly certified solution focused ICF coach in the UK.   He has a track record in a wide range of sectors delivering performance improvment , strategic planning and implementation, team improvement and alignment, inter-active “kick offs” for groups, training in effective focused performance conversations (informal and formal coaching) and 1 to 1 executive coaching.  In particular he has established a track record as a private equity coach where his focused approach is partcularly relevant to the challenges that private equity professionals face.  His private equity coaching approach is based on inspiring clients to to take action and make key decisions and changes often in complex challenging situations.

What exactly is Solutions surfing?

When you see surfers who excel in their sport they use the power of the waves to take them in a direction.  They do so by staying on the surface of the waves and in the most simple way, by staying on the board , using balance and working with the wave they are on.  In short this is a metaphor for the approach to change and progress we use namely simplicity, power, directness and “flow”.

The approach is based on the solution focused approach to change and progress.   It is about being brief and effective  having a conversation that flows easily, that stays “on the surface” and that like a surfer on wave builds momentum and power through choosing the right wave.  It typically enables clients to come unstuck and get back on track in fewer sessions.   Success rates are as high as those of other  change and coaching approaches.

The Solution Focused tools and assumptions are the result of over 25 years of practical research in the field on how best to support fast and lasting change.  This approach involves a dramatic shift of paradigm towards solution-building interventions, and is therefore a direct practical approach to fast change.

Solution surfing is conversational and stresses the importance of seeing each situation, each client, each intervention as unique and  bespoke.
